As a part of our robust sustainability program, JavitsCares is a new effort designed to facilitate the donation of materials and goods at the conclusion of blockbuster events at the convention center. In conjunction with event managers and exhibitors, our staff coordinates the donation of these items to various non-profit organizations throughout the New York region, including local schools, churches and theatre groups. The mission is to repurpose these items, such as chairs and tables, and ensure they are distributed to New Yorkers in need.

Thanks to the cooperation of our customers, hundreds of items have been donated to non-profit organizations under the JavitsCares program. To prove our commitment, our employees visited one of these organizations, Materials for the Arts, at their warehouse in Long Island City, Queens, to help them sort donated items. It’s all part of our mission to support New York’s economy and its environment.

Any customers who would like to participate in the JavitsCares program and donate to the organizations below can contact Vice President of Set Up and Event Solutions Michael Ruberry at mruberry@javitscenter.com.
